What is an HS code?

An HS (Harmonized System) code is a standardized numerical system used by customs authorities worldwide to classify traded products. Getting the right code is critical for customs clearance, duty calculation, and trade compliance.

What counts as one lookup?

One product classified is one lookup, whether it came from the web interface or the API. Your allowance counts lookups, not API calls — so a single batch call containing 100 product descriptions uses 100 of your lookups, not one.

What happens if I go over my included lookups?

Nothing stops working. Additional lookups are simply charged at your plan's per-lookup rate and appear on that month's invoice. You can see exactly where you stand at any time in the portal.

Do unused lookups roll over?

No. Your allowance resets on the 1st of each month. If you consistently run out, moving up a plan usually works out cheaper than paying for extras.

Can I change plan?

Yes, at any time from your account. Changes take effect on the 1st of the following month, so you keep the allowance you have already paid for.

How accurate are the results?

Each result carries a confidence score from 0% to 100%. High-confidence results have been verified against the official nomenclature. For compliance-critical use, we recommend reviewing anything below 80% before you file it.

Which regions are supported?

We support Global, European Union, USA, Great Britain, Canada, China, Japan, Australia, Saudi Arabia, and Faroe Islands nomenclatures.
